What's on at O Cais this week

Entertainment this week begins with traditional Portuguese Fado singing on Thursday, Steak Night with live music from Case the Base & Roger on Friday night, Saturday is Karaoke night, and Sunday you can watch, listen or join in with the weekly Jam session and open mic from 3pm. If you fancy playing cards, Monday night at O Cais you can play Poker or a popular Dutch game 'Klaverjassen'.

Portuguese gourmet festival this weekend

VILA VITA Parc’s Chef Hans Neuner showcases exceptional cuisine at the Portuguese gourmet festival ‘Rota das Estrelas’ (Route of the Stars) on 19th and 20th May 2012. Hans and Ocean will be presenting a special menu, and will host fellow 2-Michelin star chef Dieter Koschina from Vila Joya in the Algarve, together with the newly starred chef Ricardo Costa from The Yeatman in Porto and chef Benoit Sinthon from Il Gallo d´Oro restaurant at The Cliff Bay in Madeira.

The bizarre, the beautiful and the Oriental at Corte-Real

Two new additions to the Corte-Real Gallery - Simon Plumb is a new talent, recently introduced to the gallery, his frequently surreal paintings are entertaining, amusing and intellectually challenging.  Raku Clocks are new to the gallery, but are ceramic clocks created using a Japanese technique dating back to the 16th century.

Extreme fishing with Steve Townson

Steve Townson has been in the Algarve for 42 years and is well known throughout the community as director and owner of Green Fingers Landscaping. Steve, along with his UK partner Gareth Purnell have recently opened an extreme fishing travel agency where Steve hosts clients from all over the world to South America and in particular concentrating within the Amazon Basin of Brazil and Venezuela.
