The British Embassy in Lisbon opened a regional center for human resources (HR Regional Hub) of the British Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which will provide HR services to all British diplomatic missions in Europe and Central Asia on Monday, January 26.
The inauguration took place took place on Monday 26 January at the British Embassy, chaired by Simon Fraser, Head of the British Diplomatic Service, along with Dr António Rodrigues, head of the UK Portugal Friendship Group in Parliament, in the presence of British Ambassador Kirsty Hayes.
The creation of this Hub involved the formation of 18 new jobs in Portugal, a clear demonstration of the British Government’s confidence in the recovery of the Portuguese economy and quality of its human resources.
The Lisbon Hub – directed by Beatriz Perez – currently has 15 HR professionals who provide services to Embassies in more than 30 countries. When fully operational the Hub will serve more than 85 British diplomatic missions in 50 countries, spread over six different time zones, extending from Ireland in the west to the border with China in the east.
The opening of the Hub in Lisbon is an important step in the context of the Foreign Office efforts to provide a consistent service of professional human resources to all its missions around the world.
