Walking Football -  OlhaoThe Olhanense Strollers will play the Cove Rapidly Ageing Pensioners from Farnborough, Hampshire on Saturday 21st February at the Jose Arcanjo Stadium, Olhão.

The Hampshire team will be arriving with a squad of seventeen players plus a film crew from the English Football Association, who will film the match to promote the sport.

Algarve Pirates V Algarve Sharks In the first ever league encounter between two American Football teams in the region, the Algarve Pirates and the Algarve Sharks met last weekend at Pirate HQ in Mehilhoeira Grande near Portimão.

This was the second time the teams had actually played, with a friendly jogo amigável being played at the end of 2014, but this time it was for real, with league position being at stake.

Amendoeira Golf Resort welcomed football teams SC Olhanense and KF Laçi to the Amendoeira Sports Club at the Amendoeira Golf Resort near Alcantarilha in the Algarve, for a friendly match on Thursday 15th January at 11am.

FC Farense beat Go Ahead Eagles in a friendly matchFC Farense met Go Ahead Eagles at Amendoeira Golf Resort sports complex on Wednesday 7th January and won 1:0

Whilst on a warm weather training camp in Portugal, the Dutch football team Go Ahead Eagles played the Portuguese team, FC Farense at the Amendoeira Sports Club in the Algarve. The friendly football match, arranged by Gary Hobson (FIFA and UEAFA match agent), took place on Wednesday 7th January with a 10.30am kick off. The Dutch team played well but FC Farense emerged as the stronger team, deserving their 1:0 victory.

Winner James Maw giving it his best shotWell this is the last event of the 2014 Algarve Pro Golf Tour swing and we are here at a sun soaked Boavista Golf and Resort just outside of Lagos in the western Algarve playing the first round.

What a first round it turned out to be with 11 players equalling or breaking par but breaking par did in no way describe the leader James Maw’s first round.

Algarve Pirates Win First-Ever All-Algarve MatchIt was an historic first-ever meeting on this past Saturday, Dec. 13th, of the first two Algarve-based American-style football teams. The Algarve Pirates won this first-ever All-Algarve match 38 – 6, over the Algarve Sharks.
Fans of both teams enjoyed a hard fought match between the Algarve Pirates, and the newly formed Algarve Sharks.
