Last week the Council of Ministers approved plans to push ahead and legalise licensed online casino, poker and sports betting. Pending approval by the National Assembly and the European Commission, the new scheme could be in place by the end of this year. It will allow foreign operators to apply for licences.

Neil Connolly, the Director of Coaching at the Cascade Performance Golf Academy, has qualified to play in the Madeira Open. The tournament is part of the European Tour, and is the second most famous tournament in Portugal. The tournament takes place in Madeira from the 8th to the 11th of May. The event will again form part of both The European and Challenge Tour Schedules, with the €100,000 first prize counting towards The Race to Dubai.

The first game of the “Algarve Rugby Festival 2014” was held at Browns Sports & Leisure Club, Vilamoura on Saturday 5th April with the British Army winning 26-22 against Russian opposition, Krasny Yar.
Krasny Yar set the game off with the first two tries but British Army soon followed, ending the first half with a four point advantage (Half time score: 14-10). Twenty-three minutes into the first half, British Army was up 26-10. Krasny Yar managed to score 2 more tries and conversions bringing them up to a close final score of 26-22.
