A 56-year-old woman who lured, seduced, drugged and robbed a man in Quarteira has been arrested by police in Santarém.
According to the Loulé GNR, the woman picked up the man ‘in a commercial establishment’ and, promising sex, went back to his property where she slipped a drug into his drink, waited for him to succumb and robbed him of money and gold.
In addition to arresting the woman, house searches were made at two other addresses and four packages of a powerful sedative, 26 rounds of ammunition, a mobile phone and ecstasy tablet were removed for use as evidence.
The woman is not new to this game and has a criminal record for similar offences both in Spain and in Portugal. She now has to present herself at the local police station three times a week and can not leave her local area.
The GNR in Loulé has asked any other victims of this type of robbery to contact them on 289410490

Even if they have been turned over by this woman or somebody similar - how do they know what lies behind this and what 'coming out' will lead to? Not least - where did the money come from to pay this woman and is Financas aware of its origins?
Also - the Portuguese judicial system is notoriously leaky and 'abuse of position' is not seen as morally wrong here. Everyone in Portugal accepts that that is the reason you took the job in the first place. So how many thousands of lawyers and prosecutors are available, for a fee, to trawl court procedures nationwide? Perhaps digging out a nugget from this investigation...
