vrsa2The Pestana hotels group is to invest €3 million in a new Pousada in the historic centre of Vila Real de Santo António, on the Algarve border with Spain.

The project will be the 17th Pestana hotel in the Algarve and the fourth of the Pousadas de Portugal brand in the region.

"This project generates jobs in the region and additional beds under the excellent Pousadas de Portugal brand,” read the group’s statement today.

The formal announcement on this investment and Pestana’s expansion strategy will be made next Monday by the Chairman of the Executive Committee and CEO of the Pestana Hotel Group, José Theotónio and the Chairman of the Pestana Pousadas Group, Luis Castanheira Lopes.

Hopefully, Pestana will take over the Guadiana Hotel - a very suitable property for a Pousada.
