Marques da Silva (GMS) a reseller of Apple Inc. products is investing €600,000 in a new shop to sell Apple products at Forum Algarve.
André Marques da Silva, a GMS director, commented that "this is the first Apple shop in the south of the country," taking the company’s total to five outlets in Portugal at an overall investment of €3 million.
"With the exception of the Chiado outlet in Lisbon, whose investment was higher, the investment in each of the other shops has been identical to the amount invested in our GMS Store in the Algarve", said André Marques da Silva, adding that the group will continue "looking for locations in Portugal" for the installation of new Apple outlets.
GMS continues to expand, “we intend to increase the number of shops, which will naturally depend on the opportunities that arise.”
The four shops already in operation have shown "very interesting" growth, said the director, and between 2012 and 2013 turnover increased by 30%, "This year we estimate grow at 40% over last previous," added André Marques da Silva.
Much of the success is due to staff training to achieve the mandatory levels of product knowledge and customer care insisted in by Apple.
