In the year of NASA’s first Space Shuttle mission and with Ronald Reagan as the new US President, some early property pioneers from the UK were opening one of the first full-service Estate Agencies in Albufeira and the central Algarve.
Allan Edwards, as his father before him, had developed experience of the Portuguese Property market through their investment in Cerro Grande, an upmarket neighbourhood in west Albufeira, amongst other prestigious projects in the Portuguese capital, Lisbon.
Allan and his new team soon realised that (often) foreign buyers of these new properties needed trusted service and assurance whist they were away: and who better to do this than the people that originally designed and built their houses and apartments!
As markets matured and finally the World economy began to recover after years of gloom, Cerro Novo expanded their service offering to cope with increasing demand, adding a property sales office to their portfolio in 1988.
35 years of developing great service, hiring and retaining the best people and careful but consistent expansion has led to a successful, long-term business which uniquely looks after Clients at every step of their property journey: from Search to Purchase to Management and from Renting to Selling.
The Founders of Cerro Novo are still actively involved in the business too, with Allan Edwards as Chairman and Sue Bland working within the Rentals and Management office.
Many members of the Cerro Novo team are also long standing employees, most with over ten years dedicated service. Robert Edwards as Sales Director, Ana Penisga Amorim (Partner since 2013) and Lesley Cuss (General Manager – Management & Rentals) each lead a team of professionals – designed to maintain and constantly improve standards in a highly competitive marketplace.
