SOS Algarve Animals and StreetLife are “coming together” during February to tackle a problem: unwanted animals in the East Algarve.
Working together makes sense. Jointly they are endeavouring to help pet owners on low incomes to get their animals sterilised, as well as street and abandoned animals.
StreetLife will be concentrating on dogs/puppies and SOS Algarve Animals will be focusing on cats/kittens.
Graeme Cree (StreetLife) and Ginie de Weerd (SOS Algarve Animals), put their heads together to launch a joint project during February to help reduce the number of abandoned and dumped animals.
It is a mission for both Associações to educate pet owners, government and local Camaras that sterilisation is the only way forward in their quest to reduce the number of unwanted animals.
February 23rd is World Spay Day - what better way than to have a Sterilisation Awareness Month to highlight a solution to a problem. Be wise - sterilise!
