On stage at the Old Gallery, São Brás Museum this comedy play based on factual events, takes place in Paris and Lisbon where the audience encounters the art collector Peggy Guggenheim and the cabaret performer Josephine Baker.

Portugal’s most acclaimed modern poet, Fernando Pessoa makes an appearance translating surrealist texts and writing in verse. Sometimes carried away by automatic writing he also conducts other worldly experiments and séances; activities that were fashionable at the time.
The play features Cecile Eluard as Cinderella, the neglected daughter of Gala Dali. The play is written entirely in rhyme and there is a cast of 12.
Written and Directed by Carolyn Kain, ‘Cinderella and the Surrealists’ is to be staged in the Old Gallery, São Brás Museum.
