“A Sense of Place” Exhibition - April 5th to 30thOlhao Painters (previously Olhao Artists Initiative) are a group of international artists who have reformed and rebranded. With the addition of several new members and a newly-built website the group have decided to concentrate on their strength…….. painting!! The Exhibition, ’A Sense of Place’ at Re-Criativa Republica 14 will have it's official opening on April 5th from 5.30 - 7.30pm (exhibition and bar will be open until 9) and is timed to run simultaneously with the eagerly awaited Olhao Film Festival, consequently the exhibition is expected to attract a great amount of attention. All are welcome!

The artists in the group are based around Olhao, and most of them are professional. Exhibiting in Portugal and abroad, members have a wide range of experience in the Arts. "We have built a website, to showcase our talented Artists work and to enable other Art lovers around the world to access our exhibitions, if they are unable to attend an event in person. Olhao is an exceptional town that attracts, many people from all over the world. It seems to be a hub of creativity, and the Artists I have met here are talented, professional and of outstanding quality,” said Fiona Gray, former gallery director in the UK.

Maria Joao Cabrita, President of the República 14, is delighted to announce that the Olhao Painters are now their resident art group and will be involved in exciting plans ahead, programmes of exhibitions, as well as tutored painting classes.
