International Women find Sisterhood and Support at the Power Circles

Women who are starting a new life in a foreign country, are extra vulnerable because they don't have the support of a safety net. Being a Life Coach for internationals, I know that crafting your new life, building up a network or working on your personal goals is much more fun and efficient, when you have inspiring women cheering you on. A Power Circle is a facilitated group where women empower each other to grow and develop themselves. In these Circles women are guided to feel empowered from within, safe within themselves and in the world, free in all aspects of their individuality, including taking up space and holding a vision for themselves that is bigger than their fears.

By Ria van Doorn, Life coach for internationals living abroad.

Online 12 week course.
Starting Date: October 12

Turn your house into a home, workshop Interior Design

The moment you enter your new house here in the sun, you'll see your favourite furniture, wallpaper or curtains in a totally different light. And we don't only mean this in a figurative sense. With an abundance of bright light here, your colours look different than before. Rethinking the design of your interior is a lovely new challenge, but where to begin!?

We have asked Isabel Santos, one of the most gifted interior designers in the Algarve with over 25 years of experience under her belt, to give a workshop on how to turn your house into a home, taking one's individuality, lifestyle, their hobbies and taste into account. In this workshop you can expand your style and essence and adapt it to your new life in Portugal, fitting your personality and the current trends.

Date: Saturday, Sept. 18 Time: 18:00-20:00

Community matters - Interactive webinars about moving to Portugal for foreign residents.

Wednesday is Expat Centre Portugal Community Time.

You might want to mark Wednesdays in your calendar as "Community Time". You can either join us in-person in Loulé at our weekly Coffee & Conversation meeting, or online, more or less twice a month, on Wednesday evenings at 7pm Lisbon timezone.
When you are new in this country and are building up your social network, it's important for your well-being to reach out, instead of withdrawing into yourself. Taking the leap to join a meeting to meet other local internationals is a potent and powerful step in creating a sense of connectedness and belonging.

Join us online - or in person - to meet with other local internationals and share experiences.

In person Coffee & Conversation is on Wednesday at 10:30.

At the Expat Centre Portugal, we connect people. Meeting up increases feelings of connectedness and increases the well-being for everyone involved. We do our best to foster a sense of community.

Moving to another country or continent can be exciting and daunting at the same time, it can also be challenging to find the right and most up to date information.

The Expat Centre Portugal helps internationals prepare themselves for the move to their new home in Portugal, and to build a steady network of friends once they’ve arrived. We make sure they feel welcome, safe and supported for this exciting new chapter in their life.

Ideal if you're planning on living here, or have just arrived and want to be prepared!

Together with a panel of professionals with outstanding knowledge in their field of expertise, the Expat Centre Portugal helps newcomers to feel prepared, informed, secure and welcomed in beautiful Portugal.

Our free webinars are held every month. They are open to everyone and we welcome your questions and curiosity. Together with the speakers, the Expat Centre Portugal has created a Q&A Page, where you can find most answers to your pending questions.
