Portuguese pianist ANTÓNIO OLIVEIRA will offer two concerts for the AMIGOS DE MUSICA on December 13 and 15th.
On Tuesday DECEMBER 13th, António Oliveira will play music by W.A. Mozart, Franz Liszt and Robert Schumann.
On Thursday DECEMBER 15th he presents works by Claude Debussy, Leos Janáček, Sergei Rachmaninoff and Portuguese composers Antonio Fragoso and Telmo Marques.
António Oliveira got his first degree in Oporto and then studied with Laszlo Simon at the Hochschule der Kunst in Berlin and received a master’s degree at the Hartt School, University of Hartford, USA.
He is an active recitalist, both solo and chamber music, having played in many concert halls in Portugal, Spain, France, Germany, Finland, Turkey, USA and Canada.
He was broadcast by RDP Antena 2 and featured in RTP Portuguese TV.
Along with the clarinet player António Rosa he formed the Projecto XXI which has premiered and recorded two CDs with music by Portuguese composers.
António has played world premieres and recorded music by António Chagas Rosa. He has premiered the Concerto for piano and orchestra nº1 by Telmo Marques with the Orquestra Clássica da Madeira.
He has released two piano solo recordings: Chopin and Liszt in 2016 and Ravel andJanáček in 2018.
António Oliveira teaches at the Conservatório de Música do Porto.
Amigos de Música concerts at Os Agostos begin at 7.00pm sharp. Doors open at 6.00pm and wine, fruit juices and canapés will be served. There will also be a short interval with refreshments served. Entry donation including refreshments is €30 per person for guests and non-members. This is payable in advance by bank transfer at www.amigosdemusica.org

The AMIGOS DE MÚSICA is an international group of around 120 members who stage musical activities by internationally renowned musicians and also sponsor young Portuguese musicians.
It is a non-profit organization and celebrated its thirtieth anniversary last year.
