A British mother has been arrested for assaulting her seven-year-old daughter in an Albufeira hotel.The woman was arrested after shocked staff at the Monica Isabel Beach Club apartment complex called the GNR who made an immediate arrest last Saturday night, April14th.
The 45-year-old holidaymaker was found to be drunk and is being held while the court decides what to do with her.
The seven-year-old girl was taken to Faro hospital and was scheduled to be taken to a child care institution in Faro where she will be cared for, pending the court's decision.
A report in national newspaper, Correio da Manhã, reported that the mother was,“rather drunk and started arguing with the child, and then started to hit her.”
The child was treated by the Albufeira Bombeiros and taken to the hospital.
