Jul 6th - 09H00 Av. V6 - Portimão
Jul 9th - 09H00 Av. de Castro Marim - Vila Real de Santo António

The Covid-19 task force announced yesterday that people between 18 and 29 years old will begin to be vaccinated from next week.
“The week beginning July 4th is the estimated date for the start of vaccination, in descending order, for the age group from 18 to 29 years old”, said a source from the vaccination task force.
According to the same source, initially, vaccination for this age group will be done through central scheduling, with users receiving an SMS message or a phone call from the health services, but self-scheduling will gradually be available up to 18 years of age. “Currently, some actions are under study that could be implemented to appeal to younger people for vaccination,” said the `task force' coordinated by Vice Admiral Henrique Gouveia e Melo.
A study by the National School of Public Health at the Universidade Nova de Lisboa, released on Tuesday, indicates that 85.7% of young people between 16 and 25 want to be vaccinated, but 14.3% have not yet decided if they will receive the vaccine against Covid-19. "It is in the working age population, men and people with higher education that there is greater resistance to taking the vaccine", indicates the data from the ENSP Covid-19 barometer for the period between 11 and 25 June.
“As the older age groups are almost totally or partially vaccinated, the highest incidences of resistance to vaccination are now evident in the young adult ranges”, explained Ana Rita Goes, scientific coordinator. According to Tuesday's data from the Directorate-General of Health, 6% of the age group between 18 and 24 years (49,206 people) have already received the first dose of the vaccine and 5% (35,621) have completed the vaccination program.

The health delegate, Ana Cristina Guerreiro, has ordered the suspension of classroom classes for the 1st and 2nd Cycles of all school groups, public and private, in the municipalities of Albufeira, Faro, Loulé, Olhão and São Brás of Alportel.
According to a statement from the Regional Health Authority of the Algarve, this measure has "a predictable period of 12 days", beginning Monday 28th June..
The measure is justified "on the basis of the precautionary principle, following the existence of 816 active confirmed cases of Covid-19, with an Incidence Rate at 14 days (number of cases per 100,000 inhabitants) of 583 for Albufeira, 329 for Faro , 448 to Loulé, 403 to Olhão and 326 to São Brás de Alportel".
Due to the "gravity of the situation, in order to contain transmission chains", this determination, which coincides with the end of the school year, "will be permanently monitored and reviewed on July 9th, with an analysis of the epidemiological situation of the municipalities on that date" .
The statement stresses that "the epidemiological investigation is ongoing and the surveillance of contacts will be guaranteed by health authorities / health delegates and public health services, who will identify and maintain in prophylactic isolation and surveillance the direct contacts of confirmed cases, with the permanent support of the police forces".
The Algarve Regional Health Authority also advises the schools' educational community that, "if signs or symptoms appear, the SNS24 Line should be contacted (808 24 24 24)".

Prices increased last year, by an estimated 6% on average across the Algarve, and, during the first six months of this year, we estimate that prices have already increased by at least that much again.
