The first business drinks event of the year for the British-Portuguese Chamber of Commerce (BPCC) was held last month, April 28, at the Carvoeiro offices of estate agents Fine & Country.
Leaving from the meeting point in Silves, the motorcycle riders of the ASB took to hills over to Nave Redonda. Then from there they continued north to visit the Santa Clara country hotel, for a break for coffee and chance to admire and photograph the spectacular views of the lake from the hotel terrace high above the dam.
For the last 10 years, Rotary Club Estoi Palace International (RCEPI) has given Merit Certificates to recognize the efforts of the best 3 students of each grade between 5th and 9th grade at the School “Poeta Emiliano da Costa" in Estoi.
Having had to postpone and then eventually having to cancel the February ride due to the wet and windy weather, it was good to be able to run the ASB March event, even though it was delayed again by the much needed rainfall.
Rotary Club Estoi Palace International (RCEPI), with the help of the Rotary Club of Faro, held a Gala Dinner at the Hotel Eva in Faro on Friday, 4th March, in support of APAV ( Associação Portugesa Apoio à Vitima) an association that helps victims of domestic violence.
Each year, District Governors visit every Rotary club in their district to draw attention to important Rotary issues and, if necessary, provide special attention to weak or struggling clubs. The purpose of these visits is also to motivate Rotarians to participate in service activities and to personally recognize the outstanding contributions of Rotarians in the district.
Rotary Club Estoi Palace International (RCEPI) was delighted to receive a visit from Paulo Martins our Rotary International 1960 District Governor (DG). The visit took place at Estoi Palace Pousada on Tuesday 8th February. This was an opportunity for the Club to show the DG charity work that has been done in the local community and internationally.
The ASB group ride on January 28th was enjoyed by 37 bikers from all over the Algarve, they turned up on a varied selection of bikes ranging from a couple of 125cc Hondas to the big Indian cruisers and BMW touring bikes.
