On the 13th August, under a brilliant azure sky and a sizzling golden sun, Boavista hosted its first Summer Festival which was enjoyed by local residents and guests holidaying on the resort. The event got under way with a refreshing welcome drink, aptly named ‘summer lovers’, provided by the José Repolho winery.
To compensate for the soaring afternoon temperatures, guests were able to chill out in inflatable pools of water or frolic amidst clouds of silky foam. For the more energetic, games of aqua football were organised while the dance floor came alive with ‘Zumba’ led by Ana Leal and Saúl Maurício. The rhythmic reggae sounds of Jahlita Friends enticed people to boogie the afternoon away in a convivial atmosphere.

Whilst once upon a time the cry ‘the Cossacks are coming’ would have induced panic, the Cossack troupe of the Escola de Dança de Lagos came back to the city of Lagos to cheers and congratulations for bringing with them silver medals in their Junior category with 87.0 points and the Children’s duet of Afonso Gouveia and Sara Nascimento won bronze medals with 85.0 points.
