Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares seeks expats

spanishpropertyGordon Ramsay is ready to verbally lash British expats running restaurants in Europe.

His Kitchen Nightmares TV programme is aiming to recruit British-run businesses that need help.

Nicola Lloyd, the producer of the BAFTA-winning series, is on the hunt for willing participants. She said: "This series will see Gordon travel to Europe’s holiday hot spots to help Brit-owned restaurants, hotels and B&Bs that are struggling to make ends meet.

"We’d love to hear from any owners, managers or head chefs who feel they could benefit from Gordon’s help and advice."

Filming will take place during May and June and the series will be broadcast on Channel 4 later in the year.

"We have not pinpointed locations yet. At the moment we are targeting Spain, France, Greece and Cyprus", according to a researcher with the programme’s production company, One Potato Two Potato.

Spain is perhaps an obvious choice as 10,000 bars and restaurants shut their doors for good last year as the economy struggles to regain an even footing.

Expats who are interested in featuring in the new series can contact the production team via email on restaurants@onepotatotwopotato.tv or by calling +44(0) 203 227 5867.

help Brit-owned restaurants, hotels and B&Bs that are struggling to make ends meet.
Producer Ms Lloyd is apparently unaware as yet that there are stunningly few - fully legal and licensed - Brit-owned restaurants, hotels and B&Bs in southern Europe .... unlike southern europeans ownership in the UK.
Many have tried but there is a noticeable reluctance (Think IKEA in the Algarve) for the local businesses to make space for them. So mysteriously licenses never arrive and costs escalate off the scale.
So the Brits fail and return to the UK to swell the membership of the European doubters in UKIP and the Tories.
If Gordie's programme does get aired listen out for words like the Brit 'has a landlord'; 'is renting' etc
Surely most would want to actually own the premises?
