Sir Cliff faces second challenge to CPS sex charges decision

CliffRichard2A second sexual abuse accuser has challenged a decision not to bring charges against Sir Cliff Richard.

The Crown Prosecution Service said it was to review one allegation after a request was received by one man, another has now requested a review of a separate incident and the reviews will be handled together.

The accuser, who claims he was sexually assaulted, can ask for a review of any decisions not to charge a suspect as a result of a 2013 scheme set up by the Crown Prosecution Service.

A spokesman for the singer said, "Sir Cliff reaffirms his innocence and has every confidence the CPS will come to the right conclusion as soon as possible."

The Director of Public Prosecutions, Alison Saunders, said "We will look at it again, and it must still be that there is sufficient evidence and it's in the public interest to prosecute. It must still satisfy the tests."

The original allegation were made by four men over alleged sex offences between 1958 and the early 1980s.

The Crown Prosecution Service had decided not to bring charges against Sir Cliff at whcih time the singer said he was "thrilled that the vile accusations and the resulting investigation have finally been brought to a close."

The uncertainty continues with these reviews from Sir Cliffs accusers whose names remain secret.
