Electricity tariffs in Portugal will rise from July 1st for domestic customers in the regulated market, reflecting the rise in energy prices in wholesale markets, announced the Energy Services Regulatory Authority (ERSE) yesterday.

Portugal may cross the 'red lines' of the pandemic in two weeks' time, forcing the Government to review the country's deconfinement process, warn the General Directorate of Health and the Ricardo Jorge Institute.

Yesterday afternoon, the Ferragudo Lifeguard station rescued two crew members aboard a pleasure boat, which was adrift in the navigation channel of the port of Portimão, next to the commercial pier, due to a breakdown in the propulsion.

The General Directorate of Health have announced that the age restriction associated with the use of the Janssen (Johnson & Johnson) Covid vaccine on males has been removed.

The European Parliament have approved the adoption of the Covid-19 digital certificate, which will allow EU citizens already vaccinated, recovered from an infection or tested, to travel without restrictions within the European Union from 1st July.

Environmental association Zero announced the distinction this morning. A Zero Pollution beach is one in which no microbiological contamination was detected in the tests carried out on the bathing waters over the last three bathing seasons.
