Could an EU Green Card ring-fence citizens’ rights post Brexit?

euThe Constitutional Affairs Committee of the European Parliament last week held a hearing to discuss a proposal to ring fence the status and the rights of EU-27 citizens in the UK and Britons in Europe post Brexit, writes New Europeans founder Roger Casale.

Faro budget boost from property sales tax

Hi Fly builds €30 million hangar at Beja airport

bejaAccording to the president of the Hi Fly group, a Portuguese charter airline headquartered in Lisbon, work began this month to clear land at Beja airport to build a €30 million hangar.

The group company, Mesa, already has started work to build the aircraft maintenance facility that aims to create 150 jobs over the next three years, chairman Paulo Mirpuri said.

Public Ministry takes oil drilling debate to Supreme Court

oilrigPortugal’s Public Ministry has appealed against the decision of the Central Administrative Court of the South which overturned the suspension of the license for oil exploration off Aljezur as issued the Administrative Court of Loulé last August.

The final decision will now fall to the Supreme Administrative Court.

EDP boss on over €6,000 a day
