handcuffsThe leader of the violent gang which spread terror across the Algarve in the summer of 2012 was sentenced to the maximum sentence of 25 years in prison.

The gang had committed more than three dozen crimes including homicide, attempted homicide, aggravated kidnap, aggravated robbery, and arson.

These kinds of people are everyone's nightmare if you live in more remote places - but 3 questions for budding criminologists:
Were they outsiders (foreigners) or home grown Portuguese or hybrids?
Were they caught when selling on what they had stolen?
Or were they caught being newcomers treading on the already established criminals toes ?
