New Lisbon to Faro train service to take four hours

trainPortugal’s railway company is launching a new train service between Lisbon Oriente and Faro to cater for a rise in seasonal tourism.

There are no spare intercity trains so old rolling stock is being used which will take four hours to complete the journey.

lynx2A public tender has been launched to design and execute the interpretive centre at Casa do Quinta do Camacho on the northern slope of the castle mound.

The Interpretive Centre of the Iberian Lynx continues the Council’s desire to explain all about this threatened species as there already is an exhibition in the castle grounds at the Aljibe, opened in 2014.

Man arrested at Tavira nudist beach on sexual abuse charge

handcuffA man has been arrested by the Police for allegedly sexually abusing his son, a minor, at a nudist beach.

A statement from the Police reads that, "the facts occurred yesterday, in broad daylight, around 6 pm, on a beach, in Tavira, in the area of the beach where nudism is practiced. This was witnessed by several naturists who questioned the abuser and called the authorities."
