Ana Nobre exhibits 'colourful bursts of expression' in Lagoa gallery

AnaNobreSmallAna Nobre is exhibiting new work at the Manuela Vale Gallery, in Escola de Artes Mestre Fernando Rodrigues, in Lagoa, her adopted town which has helped create a canvas for her colourful bursts of expression.

“Being able to make my work known to the world it’s a dream come true!” said Ana, announcing that the opening is on June 26th, at 19:00, until July 20th.

Ana Nobre, 38-years-old from Lisbon, graduated in Fine Arts Painting, ESAD, Caldas da Rainha in 2006 and moved to Lagoa four years ago.

Since settling in the Algarve, the changes in Ana’s work have been remarkable with bursts of expression through colour and subject, blending fantasy with a underlying rhythm of social comment.

In these last two years Ana has been developing a theme for her paintings which analyses the society where she now lives and her “self” within that society as a detached fantasy.

Clowns, characters from the stories of our childhood and other imaginings from her alter ego emerge on canvas as an outburst.

Some of Ana’s ‘Clowns’ from this series will be at the Parallax Art Fair in Kensington, UK from July 20th to 22nd.

For the time being, Ana intends to create more work on this theme and look even closer at Portugal from inside out.

“Being able to make my work known to the world it’s a dream come true!” said Ana who is delighted that her work will be on display at the Manuela Vale’s Gallery in Lagoa.
