A busy September for ASB

Phil, David and Hans on the way OdeleiteIt has been a busy month of September for ASB members starting with a Charity Ride ending with lunch at Gaivoto Home for teenagers in Albufeira which raised around 400 euros for the kids in the home.

The well attended event was arranged and the ride led by ASB Organiser David Shirley. The ride was through the hills around the pretty village of Alte where the the group stopped for refreshments by the waterside at the Fontes before going on to the home for a BBQ lunch.

This was followed a few days later by a ride to Odeleite in the Eastern Algarve which was organised by Phil  and Hans. This wonderfully scenic ride across the mountains north of Tavira turned out to be quite challenging when leader Hans took a wrong turn on the way to the coffee break and the riders had to cope with some difficult off road terrain to earn their cup of coffee.

It was then an easy ride to the restaurant near the barragem in Odeleite for a late lunch before everyone went their separate ways home.

Next up several ASB members visited the Autodromo at Portimao for the World Superbike racing. They had the pleasure of watching some close racing with history being made when the 300 cc class was won by Ana Carrasco from Spain. The first lady rider to win a world championship round.
