Founded in 2010 by Willemijn Van Der Brink, João Miguel Moreno and Celia Maria Rodrigues Monteiro. with the intention to improve the quality of life for children and youth in the Vila Real de Santo Antonio community.
Working under the idea that the happiness and well-being of children is tied to that of their parents and the community around them, and that all people have the right to learn, grow and express themselves in a non-judgmental environment, The Dream Association offers direct activities open to all the community at €1 admission for children and € 2 for adults.
Activities currently include an open “Play to learn” program, hip-hop dance, belly dance, yoga, Aerobics (Nia), English, and in the future we hope to expand to a “moms and tots” program as well as art, drama and Portuguese language for foreigners clubs.
The formats of the activities are non-formal, and full of motivation for personal growth and achievement. Our methods include personal relationships with the students and activities that reflect the individuality of the participants.
The Dream Association has a small second hand store at our location where we sell quality clothing and home decoration/appliances. Proceeds from the store go to support the expenses of the activities. We gladly accept donations.
