And The Winners Of The ASB Photo Challenge Are...

AND THE WINNERS OF THE ASB PHOTO CHALLENGE ARE...During the last few months the members of the Algarve Senior Bikers group have been unable to enjoy their usual monthly motorcycle rides due to the restrictions on group sizes. So, over the last 3 months many of the bikers have been taking part in the ASB Photo Challenge.

The Photo Challenge event meant they could ride on their own or in small group, finding many different places of interest suggested by the ASB organizers. Having found the destination they then submitted their photographs to compete in the challenge, which had to include themselves or their bikes, and show the destination.

In addition to being a different enjoyable competition the riders paid and donated an entry fee which helped boost the ASB charity funds for the Gaivota Children's Home. The challenge raised nearly a quarter of the funds raised last year, the total being just short of €3500.

The winning photo, chosen by Sue Englefield of the Algarve Daily News was sent in by rider Erik Eriksson and shows The Chapel at Senhora da Rocha, near Armação de Pêra. "This photo really caught my eye because it looks like a painting!" said Sue.

The runner up photo was chosen by the organizers, and was a photo of the Bhuddist Stupa at Malhão, in the hills above Salir, sent in by Dale Pletan.

Some of the best photos are on the ASB website - you can see them here: https://algarveseniorbikers.com/asbphotochallenge.html

The Photo Challenge event was organised by Andrew Chilton, who suggested the idea, assisted by Erwin Oortman and David Shirley. The challenged finished at the end December and now all ASB events are suspended for the time being due to the ongoing Coronavirus situation.
