At a recent wine tasting at the Horta Grill in ALVOR, promoting the wines of the Minho, there were 40 businessmen and women, directors, and opinion-leaders from ten countries: Sweden, Finland, Germany, Holland, England, France, Italy, Spain, Brazil, Portugal.
Among them was the Swedish Consul in the Algarve, Rui Horta, the former president of the Global Sustainable Tourism Council, Mauro Morocco and the international consultant of IKEA, Peter Levenius.
Ten wines were presented, as well as a carob cake. Among them Phulia, Abade, Caroça, Merufe, Vianna, with some guests pre-booking a trip to visit those wine producers.
The event ended with eight fado songs promoting Coimbra, Lisbon and the Algarve, led by Vânia Rodrigues
Over the last two years, at these tastings, Jack Soifer has presented 26 producers from the Algarve, Alentejo, Beira Interior, Dão, Douro, Minho, Ribatejo and Setúbal, to 166 guests from twelve countries, and planning visits to some of them.
