On February 20, 2025, the Rotary Club of Albufeira hosted its Festive Dinner for Recognition and Tribute, celebrating professionals whose commitment, ethics, and impact contribute significantly to the community.
The event took place at Hotel Villa Petra and was attended by a distinguished gathering of Rotarians, community leaders, and business professionals, including:
🔹 Dr. José Carlos Rolo – Mayor of Albufeira
🔹 Dr. Cristiano Cabrita – Deputy Mayor of Albufeira
🔹 Companion Isabel Lopes – President of the District Youth Committee and Coordinator of the Women’s Empowerment Project
🔹 Companion Maria do Carmo Justo – Assistant to the Governor of District 1960
🔹 Representatives from various Rotary Clubs, including:

🔹 João Soares and Paulo Soares – entrepreneurs behind Garrafeira Soares, a leading name in the beverage sector in Portugal
🏆 Lifetime Achievement Award
🔹 Joaquim Tinoco – businessman and founder of Catuna & Silva, Lda., recognized for his outstanding career and contributions
These recognitions were chosen in January, the Rotary Month of Professional Service, and awarded in February, the Month of Peacebuilding and Conflict Prevention, highlighting the positive impact of these professionals in society.
In his opening remarks, the President of the Rotary Club of Albufeira emphasized Rotary International’s 120-year legacy (1905-2025) and its seven key areas of focus:
