Algarve Senior Bikers enjoy sunshine after the rain

Algarve Senior Bikers enjoy sunshine after the rainAfter all the recent stormy weather which caused the postponement of the March ride, Algarve Senior Bikers were able to enjoy a great ride out in the sunshine on March 26th.

Starting from the village of São Marcos de Serra and leaving via the IC1 main road heading north, before turning east into the hills above São Barnabe for a stop at the spectacular Miradouro do Mú, to take a few photos.
Then it was on to Dogueno for a break for refreshments before taking some beautifully quiet roads towards Martim Longo. Then, turning back to head for lunch in Cortelha, with yet another photo opportunity at the Miradouro de Caldeira on the way.

There were over 40 riders in three groups enjoying the quiet roads, with beautiful views from start to finish.

Ride leaders on the day were Philippe Payen, David Ryan, Huw Chivers assisted by Tus Gentes, John Pilkington and ASB Organiser David Shirley, who also planned the route and arranged the lunch etc.

The ASB now has a new website created for us by member Ken Blunt, to enable members to sign up to take part in rides and events.

Members are reminded to register if they have not already done so, in order to be able to sign up for future rides.

If you are interested in joining us please email algarveseniorbikers@gmail.com, for more information.
