The São Lourenço Singers just finished their spring season with two successful concerts in the Algarve. The May 1st soldarity concert was at the Quarteira church, “Igreja de Nossa Sra da Conceição” to raise funds for the Home of Quarteira.
The June 19th concert, “Voices of Summer”, was at the Beach Hotel Dom José in Quarteira, where their guests were treated to a mixed program of jazz swing songs and musical theater!
São Lourenço Singers is a friendly community choir of mixed singers who all share the same love of music and singing. Under the direction of choir director, Joyce Whitelaw, they perform various charity concerts during the year bringing joy to the audiences and supporting the local community.
“As choir director and composer I get to write my own choral arrangements and share new music with my singers, which is highly rewarding,” said Joyce.
The São Lourenço Singers rehearse every Tuesday, from 4-5.30pm at the Almancil Community Center.
