Sadly, Pete Duffell lost his long battle with cancer recently and will long be remembered by his ASB fellow bikers, and was and always will be an inspiration to us all.
Pete's wife, Rosalinde, rode out with the ASB's on October 14th on a memorial ride in the hills near Sao Marcos de Serra.

Dear David, and all who attended this ASB tribute to Pete,
What can I say - it was a great ride today for Pete and very emotional for me. Today, although not alone, I did have time to think during the ride and to remember so much of what Pete talked about when he returned from his rideouts.
I now understand why Pete always came home with a broad grin on his face - it is truly exhilarating and I found the whole experience something I would like to repeat.
The sense of freedom and being closer to nature was new to me and something I really did enjoy.
My thanks go to you especially for organising the event, Joachim - who gave me a terrific ride on his VW trike back to Silves after lunch, as well as a great ride in the morning, and all the other participants who made my day so special - something I will never forget. I feel I have acquired a new family - everyone was so kind and made me feel so welcome - thank you one and all and thank you for the lovely words so many of you wrote in Pete's tribute book. I will treasure them.
With my thanks once again for a wonderful tribute to my beloved Pete.
