On Tuesday 13th September the Algarve Senior Bikers headed off for a trip to the Santa Clara Barragem, with lunch in Santana de Serra, organised by John Redding, Alain Balouzet and John Wittey.
The Meeting Point was Restaurante Cruzamento near Sao Marcos on the the old Lisbon Road.
From the start John led to Santa Clara via Pereiras, joining the N266 to Santa Clara for a short stop by the lake then moving on to Santa Clara a Velha for coffee.
After coffee with Alain now at the helm it was on to Sao Martinho de Amoreiras, then continuing around the Eastern side of the Barragem to Santana de Serra for lunch at Cafe Restaurant Terra Forte. A stop was made on the bridge in the valley to check out the views on this very quiet rural route.
After lunch members returned to the Algarve via the IC1.
