A ‘pop-up’ winter-only restaurant has opened at Leiken, the Algarve’s exclusive designer kitchen showroom, making full use of the ultra-modern display-cooking facility. Located on the top floor of the showroom, the tables are placed right in front of the cooking stations, allowing diners to see what’s going on and fully interact with the chefs.
The restaurant is operated by private catering company Fine Dining in Style, and offers a light, modern international menu at competitive prices, with the choice of two courses for €15, and three courses for €20.
Sample dishes include rosti with smoked salmon, crème fraiche and green salad; pan-fried sea-bass on a creamy cucumber salad; cold thinly sliced roast beef with horseradish, seasonal vegetables and sautéed potatoes; lemon meringue tart and berries; and Eton Mess with strawberry soup. The small, select wine list will change weekly, and include some very well-priced ‘bin ends’ as well as several wines available by the glass.
Running from October to March, the restaurant will be open for lunch on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 12-2.30pm, and for dinner on Saturday evenings from 7-9.30pm.
