Charity Fashion Show raises over €2500!

Charity Fashion Show raises over €2500!On Saturday, 25th October, the Florentinta Charity Fashion Show took place at Monte Vale d’Eguas Restaurant in Almancil. Over 120 people attended to watch our glamourous models strut their stuff and showcase a selection of clothes available from Florentinta.

The Florentinta team have established themselves over the last 3 years in Almancil as the place to go for Frenchic Chalk Paint and have added various other painting products to their range to transform your existing furniture including transfers, stencils and much much more.  Florentinta has opened a new boutique in Tavira and the Almancil shop will now continue to handle all of the painting side of the business to complement Crown Paint which is in the same unit and the new shop in Tavira now houses the fashion side of the business.

The modelsGail, who owned the long-established company of Florentyna Dawn in the UK has over 30 years´ experience in the Fashion and Design Industry and has expert knowledge in dressing ladies of all shapes and sizes.

The newly opened Florentinta Boutique in Tavira is brimming with beautiful new styles for the Autumn/Winter season and also stocks some amazing gifts for the forthcoming festive season which include scarves, wraps,  jewellery, handbags and lots of sparkly bits.  A visit is a must but ...prepare to be spoiled for choice.

The Fashion Show raised in excess of 2500 euros which will benefit two charities, Rotary Club Estoi Palace International and the Goldra Dog Sanctuary.

RC Estoi Palace International (RCEPI) is committed to helping the underprivileged in the local community and making a lasting impact for those living in the Algarve.  The Club has been instrumental in the purchase of a refrigerated truck for the Faro Food Bank, a fully equipped ambulance for the Sao Bras Bombeiros,  the unit that houses the breast screening equipment for the Algarve Oncology Association (AOA)  mobile breast screening vehicle and a van for the AOA last year to provide mobile screening for lung cancer. This year the Club has helped to raise funds for an Estoi teenager, Margarida, who needs two operations to ensure she will not spend the rest of her life in a wheelchair, as she was born with a congenital hip defect.  The first operation took place in August, and following its success, the second operation must be done before the end of the year and a further 12.000 euros is required to fund it, and funds raised at the show will go towards this.

The Goldra Dog Sanctuary is located at Goldra near Loulé. There are over 80 dogs that need daily care. The Sanctuary is run by volunteers and supported by various fundraising events, sponsors and donations.

Jan Henderson lives on site and cares for the animals on a daily basis. Most of these dogs have been abandoned and many require medical attention.

Most of their dogs are ready to be adopted and can go to new homes, all they need is for someone to love them!

The sanctuary cannot care for all the existing street dogs, but the ones who are taken in, are nursed back to health and will always have a home here if they are too old for adoption or need specific support. These dogs are supported by generous sponsors.

We are very grateful to everyone who attended or donated to the causes and to our sponsors  Cardoso Drain Cleaning Company (T: 917 207 657);  Carla Delfino from Allaser (T: 912 296 475), Algarve Elegance Av. Duarte Pacheco, 143 Almancil (T: 960 116 393=, Philippe Stabile Hair and Beauty, Quinta do Lago, and all the craft stalls that were also present.
