For the last 11 years Rotary Club Estoi Palace International (RCEPI) has given a Portuguese / English dictionary to each of the 5th year students of the School “Poeta Emiliano da Costa in Estoi.
This year the Club President, Shirley Dunne, helped by RCEPI members Pauline Burnham and Stefan Holmberg, distributed 77 dictionaries to the pupils to help them with their education. This was as 25% increase on the previous year.
RCEPI has been helping the school in a number of ways for many years, buying much needed school equipment and helping to fund an ex-student through University.
On the 8th of November, Club member Raymond Parfait gave a presentation to 90 students about the Rotary Youth Exchange Programme. This gives pupils the chance to spend time either in other countries meeting other students to broaden their horizons.
Later in the year, the Club will be organizing Merit Certificates for the best students and career talks.
