Join us for a fundraising fashion show in Cabanas de Tavira on Sunday 9th June 2024, at 12h30 to raise funds for local animal charities who strive to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome the gorgeous creatures who arrive at our shelters.
The PAWS Charity Shop is based in Cabanas de Tavira (R. das Areias 6, 8800-593 Cabanas) - it was opened a year ago by two private rescue shelters..... Cacela Dog Haven (based in Cacela - association since 2019), owned and run by Sharron and Treve Ellis, and A Dog's Life (in the hills near Estoi - association since 2021), owned and run by Lucy and Dave Pither.
Both shelters are privately funded and subsidised through donations and fundraising events. Given the burgeoning stray population in Portugal, certainly exacerbated by the Covid crisis, the work done by private shelters and the associated search for those who want to adopt a dog, has become so much more difficult.
All of the clothes modelled will be from PAWS, plus we'll have a home-bake stall as well as a stall with great quality bric-a-brac from the PAWS shop.
The Hippo Bar will have a bar lunch available and have a really nice outside area.... we're just hoping for a lovely sunny day!
