On May 21st, Portugal Charity Network welcomed charities, volunteers, community organisations, and supporters to a successful networking meeting yesterday at Tribulum Restaurant, Almancil, bringing together people passionate about strengthening the charitable sector across the Algarve.
The event provided an opportunity for attendees to connect, exchange ideas, and discover new volunteering opportunities while continuing the Network’s current Business Awareness Focus initiative.
A highlight of the meeting was a special presentation by Cheryl Smith of Figs on the Funcho, who delivered an inspiring and practical talk titled Building Business Awareness for Charities.
Drawing on her experience of developing an award-winning Algarve business, Cheryl shared valuable insights into how smaller charities and community organisations can successfully raise their profile, build public trust, and attract support without the need for large marketing budgets.
Attendees were encouraged to think creatively about how they communicate their impact and were given practical ideas that charities can implement immediately to strengthen awareness, credibility, and long-term sustainability.
The meeting also gave attending organisations the opportunity to introduce their charities, share current projects, and discuss collaboration opportunities with fellow members of the Algarve charitable community.
