Members of Quinta do Lago Golf Club celebrated “Breast Cancer Awareness Month” by holding a “Pink” Cancer charity day on Sunday raising over €4400 for a local cancer charity.
The beneficiary was The Challenge which is a fund raising initiative set up by Robin Thomson, the local GP in Quinta do Lago and Andrea Viega, a local lawyer, with it’s aim to provide palliative care to patients and their immediate familes as they tackle cancer treatment.
Club Captain Terry Williams said “We are delighted to support such a worthwhile local cancer charity and our Members, as usual, rallied round. We are also grateful to Quinta do Lago who provided complimentary rounds to our guests and to the Conrad Spa for all of their support, it was much appreciated."
Rob Thomson From the Family Medical Centre said “We were honoured to be chosen by Quinta do Lago Golf Club and the funds raised really will make significant difference to some very vulnerable people in the local community.”
