The Algarve Classic Festival returns to the Algarve International Racetrack in Portimão, for a weekend filled with pure automotive passion.
This event, which runs from October 24th to 26th, and is one of the most anticipated events on the national sporting calendar for historic motorsport enthusiasts, promising three days of intense action, with twelve races celebrating the legacy of legendary machines and competitions.
The program, which combines demonstrations, training, qualifying, and racing, offers a journey through several decades of motorsport, with all speed disciplines—Touring, GT, single-seaters, and prototypes—duly represented.
The headline race will be the "300 km Algarve Sportscars," a first for Portugal. Lasting 120 minutes or t300km, this race includes mandatory stops for refueling and driver changes, accepting Prototypes built between 1963 and 1972, as well as GTs manufactured between 1966 and 1980. Held late Saturday afternoon, the race will finish with the cars' headlights on, evoking the great endurance races.
The program of the revitalized Portimão classic car festival also includes some of today's most exciting classic car series, such as the Iberian Historic Endurance, the benchmark competition for Touring and GT cars dating back to 1976, which will feature two grids and four races at this event; the Carrera 80, the Iberian competition for GTs and Touring cars dating back to 1993; Group 1 Portugal, dedicated to classic cars with pre-1981 Group 1 specifications; the Single Seater Series, Portugal's only single-seater competition; and the prestigious GT & Sports Car Cup, a British-based competition reserved for Pre-1966 GT cars and Pre-1963 Prototypes that have previously competed in the World Endurance Championship.
Beyond pure competition, the event is a celebration of automotive culture. The "Classic Car Parade," aimed at classic car clubs, on Saturday, and the classic motorcycle parades on Sunday will provide unique opportunities to appreciate these jewels on wheels up close in a relaxed and family-friendly atmosphere. There will also be a Formula V demonstration on Friday.
During a weekend where spectators will be treated to a fantastic journey through time, full of nostalgia and a unique sound, tickets are now available on the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve website and at the circuit ticket office.
Tickets are now available, and in several formats:
the "Main Stand" ticket grants access only to the designated stand;
the "Paddock" ticket allows access to the Paddock and the Main Stand;
and the "VIP Tower" ticket allows access between the VIP Tower, the Paddock, and the Main Stand.
Admission is free for children and young people aged three to sixteen.
