The Irish community in the Algarve looks forward to celebrating St. Patrick’s with a vibrant programme of events bringing together music, tradition, family and friendship across the region.
This year’s celebrations reflect the strong and continuously growing connection between Ireland and the Algarve, with a range of cultural and community initiatives taking place throughout March.

13 March 2026 – St. Patrick’s Society Dinner
Penina Hotel, Alvor
The celebrations begin on 13th March, with the traditional St. Patrick’s Society Dinner at the Penina Hotel in Alvor, bringing together the Irish community and friends for an evening of dinner and dancing.

15 March 2026 – St. Patrick’s Kids & Family Parade
Quinta Shopping, Quinta do Lago
Meeting at 9:30am - Event starts at 10:00am - Finish at 1:00pm
The morning will include traditional Irish music, children’s performances, an Irish dancing workshop and storytelling, along with school stalls and Irish food, in a true family celebration bringing Ireland to the Algarve for young and old alike.
Following the enthusiasm generated last year, Irish dancing will once again feature prominently in the programme. The visiting dance school has expressed its willingness to return during the year to offer further workshops, responding to growing interest from families in the Algarve.
Representatives of the GAA will also attend the parade as part of ongoing efforts to explore the development of Gaelic games in the Algarve and to connect with volunteers interested in helping bring this important element of Irish sporting culture to the region.
17 March 2026 – St. Patrick’s Charity Concert
Wyndham Grand Algarve, Quinta do Lago
The celebrations culminate on 17 March with a special Irish-themed concert by the Orchestra of the Algarve.

With the support of the Wyndham Grand Algarve and Infraquinta, the Consulate has secure a specially curated programme for the occasion, promising an uplifting and memorable evening inspired by Irish music and culture performed by the Orchestra do Algarve.
Ticket donation: €25
Proceeds will support the Aleixo Foundation and the Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s Association both in Quarteira.

In addition to these events, several golf tournaments will take place across the Algarve throughout March in celebration of St. Patrick’s, while Irish pubs in the region will once again “go green” in honour of the festivities, offering traditional music Seisiúns and Irish dancing performances. Local supermarkets will also be increasing their range of Irish products during this period, allowing residents to bring a taste of Ireland into their homes.
