Pinetrees invites you to join us to meet Jo Barnes and hear about her work, using the horse for unmounted sessions, promoting wellbeing.
This will take place after the Riding for the Disabled sessions, which finish at around 12.00, on Friday 16th October 2026.
Jo is spending a week in the Algarve while working on her Reiki Masters.
Here is Jo´s description on what she does:
Join us for an introduction to the fascinating connection between horses and human wellbeing, exploring both the experience and the emerging science behind why being around horses can have such a powerful effect on how we feel.
Drawing on experience with horses, meditation, breathwork and Reiki, Jo will explore how slowing down, becoming present and paying attention to our own body and emotions can influence our nervous system and sense of wellbeing. She'll talk about her approach and offer a Reiki demonstration, and give you the opportunity to experience a little of what happens. These sessions have supported people experiencing overwhelm, young people with learning differences, couple wanting to reconnect, families and friendship groups - as well as simply giving horse lovers and opportunity to experience horses in a different way.

This invitation is also going out to other riding centres in the Algarve, where therapeutic use is made of the horse.
