From 9 November to 16 December 2026, Casa do Real Compromisso Marítimo in Ferragudo will host a new edition of Art in Motion, a collective exhibition organised by ACAM - Associação Caminhos do Meio, with the support of Ferragudo Parish Council.
Art in Motion is a travelling cultural project created to bring art to different places and communities across the Algarve, connecting artists with new audiences and making art more accessible to everyone.
The project brings together local artists living in the Algarve, from a wide range of nationalities, backgrounds and creative journeys, reflecting the multicultural character of the region. Emerging and established artists work across a variety of media and techniques, including painting, sculpture, mixed media, three-dimensional work and other forms of contemporary artistic expression.
More than simply a collective exhibition, Art in Motion aims to create a strong connection between art, place and community, while giving greater visibility to the rich and diverse artistic talent found throughout the Algarve.
The project also has an important charitable purpose. 25% of the profits from artwork sales are donated to ACAM - Associação Caminhos do Meio, a non-profit association supporting children and families through a range of initiatives and therapies focused on physical, emotional and mental health and wellbeing.
ACAM's work also includes projects developed within schools, particularly in the area of emotional awareness and emotional management, alongside other therapeutic and support programmes for children and families.
The exhibition invites residents, visitors and art lovers to discover the work of artists who have chosen the Algarve as a place to live and create, while also supporting an important local cause.
Art, diversity, community and solidarity come together at the heart of Art in Motion.
