It seems the energy market is opening up at last, and Portugal is finally embracing PV Solar Self-consumption.
The EU likes the idea of producing energy in the way that it is most efficient: Solar in South Europe and Wind in North Europe.
From 2015, Portugal is now supporting the combination of self-consumption and FIT (Feed back into the Grid), so called Hybrid solutions. This means you now can have the best of both worlds!
With self-consumption systems the solar production gets wasted as soon as the batteries are full. Now you can sell this excess electricity back to the grid !!
How it works: All production Is primarily used for self consumption. The excess power can be injected back into the grid.
Extra Backup: In case of battery backup this will give you overnight free electricity AND avoid future price rising !
A small household will consume 1 to 2 kw average per hour.
This average consumption is much lower then the total production, which can feed back into the grid.
In the case of Battery Backup the excess power can feed back AND you have no more grid-consumption !
Why Battery Backup?
As almost every household consumes about the same in the Night as in the Day you like to cover this and save even more. You have complete FREE energy, always be ensured of power AND avoid energy price rising.
IS IT ALL WORTH IT??
The answer to PV Solar is 100% YES !
Feeding back the excess power all depends on the wholesale price edp will pay. Make an appointment to audit your personal situation, and we will ladvise what is best for you: info@shs-pt.com.
