Budget carrier easyJet has announced a raft of new routes for 2017, including several to and from Portugal.
From June it will be possible to board flights in Faro heading for the French cities of Nice or Lille.
These join the existing services to the French destinations of Charles de Gaulle and Orly for Paris, Lyon and Toulouse.
Madeira’s Funchal will be serviced weekly with a flight to Basel in Switzerland. At a distance of 2,626 km, it is one of the longest flights in easyJet’s repertoire.
EasyJet is the second largest airline in Europe, with Ryanair in the lead.
The company welcomed an increase of 6.6% in passenger numbers last year, with nearly five million people flying easyJet in November alone.
