In an image upgrade directed at tourist traffic, Loulé council has awarded a road project to link the EN396 to Vale do Lobo and Quinta do Lago in Almancil.
The 2.2 kilometre section between the EM 527-2 (Almancil – Quarteira) and the VNC 522 (Vale do Lobo - Quinta do Lago) will naturally include a new roundabout with the budget of €2.2 million.
The work is planned to take a year with the council justifying the spend on tourism as the route is within one of the main tourism areas of the Algarve.
The new road will "make it possible to improve the image for the many tourists who pass here throughout the year."
