The 2017 International Boat Show starts on June 10th at Vilamoura Marina, ending on June 18th, where “the most luxurious boats currently on the market” are on display from leading companies.
As well as sleek and largely unaffordable yachts, unless you are in the millionaire class, there is plenty of food and drink choices in the marina’s dock-side restaurants and bars.
Many of the best regarded companies will be exhibiting, including Sun Sailer, Chaparral, Greenline, Chris Craft Launch, Fairline, Monterey, Sessa Marine – Key Largo, Starfisher, Rodman, Azimut, Sunseeker, Tiger Marine, Pershing, Ferreti, Sealver, Seakart, San Lorenzo, Windy and Absolute.
The marina was constructed in 1974, and over the decades has become recognised by its users as among the best in the world. Earlier this year, the marina won the “International Marina of Distinction: 2015-2017″ awarded by the The Yacht Harbour Association.
Entrance to the International Boat show is free with entry from midday to 22:00
The range is not all aimed at the super-rich as new brands and models of leisure boats from around the world include entry level offerings.
One company that made a splash when it opened for business at the marina last August, sells the internationally recognised Sunseeker range, manufactured in Poole, UK.

This International Boat Show is considered a key event for the Algarve and attracts owners and enthusiasts from Portugal and abroad.
The recreational boating market is rising in Portugal as the economy improves, the Algarve tourism segment continues high growth and high net worth individuals make Portugal their base due in part to a hugely beneficial tax regime that favours incomers over locals.
Portugal has natural advantages for this market, including hundreds of kilometres of beautiful coastline ith the Algarve seen as a safe haven with its many marinas and more planned.
