Seedrs and Portugal Ventures join forces to fund Portugal's start-ups

fibreopticA further step has been taken to position Portugal as the in place for start ups as crowdfunding specialist, Seedrs, has linked with Portugal Ventures together to fund promising businesses.

Portugal Ventures is the first local venture capital company to join the Seedrs investment platform with investments of up to 50% of the funding target.

The venture firm says it will be widening its remit in technology sectors such as Fintech, smart manufacturing, digital health, mobility and travel tech.

“We’re very excited by this exclusive partnership as it gives ambitious early stage Portuguese businesses access to quality investment and an incredible opportunity to take their brand to the next level by building community and marketing value,” commented Seedrs’ Chief Executive, Jeff Kelisky.

“We have a long-standing relationship with Portugal Ventures, having worked closely with them over the last couple of years and this partnership is now a strong demonstration of their belief in the quality of our deal flow, due diligence and the Seedrs platform,” continued the American.

Portugal Ventures’ chief, Celso Guedes de Carvalho, said they were thrilled to be working with Seedrs and to be able to syndicate investments via the leading equity crowdfunding platform,

“Seedrs provides a trusted and streamlined platform which will allow us to continue spearheading Portugal’s start-up scene together.”

Seedrs has funded over 570 deals to date and has had over £300 million invested on the platform.

Hmmm....due diligence. In Portuguese does that translate into anything meaning due diligence ? Or are we talking more about the BES Angola type 'due diligence'?
