One man is dead and nine people have been injured in a three car accident on the EN125 at Estômbar in Lagoa this morning, Monday, July 30th.
Seven of those injured were transported to hospital, in Portimão and in Faro and two were assisted on the spot.
The fatality was a 20-year-old Portuguese man, Luís Godinho, a former Sporting athelete. Among the nine wounded, one is in a serious condition and two of them have been categorised as in a very serious condition.
The accident occurred at 09:24 and needed 36 Bombeiros, GNR and INEM staff to assist the injured and sort out the aftermath.
The traffic was cut in both directions while emergency services worked.
