McCanns close online store

mccannsMadeleine McCann's parents have decided to shut down the online store that helped raise money to fund the search for their daughter, missing since May 2007.

The online business sold T-shirts and other items with Madeleine’s picture, such as car stickers with slogans stating, ‘Please don’t give up on me,’ and ‘Still missing, still missed’.

Donations to the The Madeleine Fund, officially called Leaving No Stone Unturned, have dwindled to ‘virtually zero’ since Madeleine went missing in Portugal 11 years ago.

According to British media, the closure coincides with rumors that the investigations may be coming to an end.

"Unfortunately, due to the many compromises and pressures, I do not have the time available to handle the requests that come to us," writes Kate McCann who also is grateful for all those who "lovingly donated to the Madeleine Fund."

According to a source cited by the Mirror, Kate and husband Gerry are very grateful to the police for all they have done in recent years and hope that efforts to try and uncover the case will continue, if there are more funds available.

In the first months of the investigations after Madeleine disappeared, £1.8 million was donated to the fund, £64,000 of which came from the sale of merchandise.
